Muse Inspiration

It came to me!! I have always been interested in Astrology so I have decided to bead the signs, very simply as I am a beginner in bead embroidery. I would use the simplistic symbols and add the astrological name, date range, as well as characterists associated with the sign. I would try to bead using the colors associated with the sign.
I need suggestions as to what material I should use to bead on. I am thinking circular as astrological charts are done this way. I thought maybe I would use Aida cloth, but upon further reflection would it be too restrictive as far as detail? Let me know what you think, please.

This sounds wonderful. I'm a Scorpio so I can't wait to see your November piece.

Penny - I think this sounds wonderful. I also bead on quilting cotton backed with wool felt but there are many alternatives that others use.

Welcome to the Bead Journal Project.

Penney,
Other alternatives to bead on are Pellon 70, and EZFelt. The first can be found in most fabric stores and the second in Michael's or JoAnne'.
Welcome to the wonderful world of BJP. Let us know if we can help you in any way. We're all in this together and there is no competition.

Welcome Penney! I like your choice for theme. I use a piece of cotton fabric that I like and either back it with Pellon 70 or Robin's interleaving paper, depending on what I'm going to do with the pieces when I'm done. The Pellon is thick and the paper obviously thin but both work great. You'll learn a lot this year and it will be fun. If you haven't check out some of Robin Atkin's books. They explain backing and everything else.
