Stumped even before beginning...

I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the beautiful creations of last year's BJP. I am thrilled to be a part of it this year.
So many things are going through my head right now-too many things, maybe? Here it is, Sept. 6th and I STILL don't know what I want to do! I'm trying not to panic---hoping some fabric and beads will clue me in. But right now there's a lot of static going on in my brain and the reception is hazy!

On the other hand, it's only Sept. 6th, and you have the whole rest of the month before you. You can always just take a bead you love, sew it down anywhere on the page and just let it grow from there...

Exactly what I was going to suggest, Lois. Just play with colors you like and let the beads guide you. Remember, this is not a competition. If it means something to you, then it is what it is supposed to be.

Try different things. Fall is coming - pull out a fall fabric and see if draws you. Pick out your ugliest, your prettiest, put several in a pile (beads or fabrics) and pick one while not looking at them. Start one. If you can't keep going you can try something else. What is most important to you - color, texture, size? Pick one and go. There is no need for the perfect idea. This is a chance to see where serendipity takes you. Let go of the control. Good luck.

Thanks for your comment. I was stuck because I tend to have so many ideas swirling in my head and I can't choos. I've decided to just pick a size and shape and start beading. I do have an idea of what I want to do for September. But I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to begin.

Everyone above is right - you have the whole month to work on this. Robin always says, pick up a bead you like and put it on, then another. Before you know it, you're done. Just start, it will be ok.

Hi Theresa -
I am all too familiar with that swirly ideas thing in the head! Although this project has so few rules, I think I might have to break one of them - I just might have to do different sized pages, depending on what I end up beading. There, I admitted it. Phew, what a relief! I'd love to keep it small and manageble, but some things just might not fit in a little 3x3 square! Oh well, if the bead journal police want to write me a ticket, that's OK - I just hope I'm not banished for eternity!
