Wow, I didn't realize you could do so much with turtles. We had "named" our son "Roaring Turtle" when he was a baby--the world calls him Will. I will be excited to see what happens with your theme!

Welcome Michelle. I read on your blog that you are going to wait til the 15th of the month to start your monthly piece so that it reflects what is going on that month. I like that idea! I'm also new and was wondering how to accomplish that. I think I'm going to end up with two pieces a month - one design/color/art and one journal, so waiting til the 15th to start the journal piece sounds like a really great idea for me to try, as well!

Welcome, Michelle! Your turtle theme is a wonderful idea.

Incidentally, if you just baste or pin that calico to your foundation instead of fusing, life with a beading needle will be a lot more fun. There is nothing more adventuresome or daunting than pushing a needle through any kind of glue . . .

I left a comment somewhere else! i dont know where but I will repeat it here! I am really interested in watching the progress of your turtle themed hournal page! I think the idea of the background fabric showing is neat. Cant wait to see how this turns out! I feel so unimaginative with just doing a 4.5 X 5.5" rectangle. Maybe next time I will think outside the box! Tracey

I love your page shape selection. It sounds like turtle is your animal totem.
