under construction

I was doing bead related construction and am really excited about my new shelves! I sort of didn't work on my latest cuff... I have a terrific excuse, see: My January cuff is under that red Hawaiian print fabric on my desk, honest! It's a couple of days from being finished, though.

I have one more set of these shelves to set up, I think the last of the 15's and the neutral colors will fit.

Awesome way to see what you have at a glance... and you do have lots of beads! Lookin' forward to seeing your new cuff.

This is amazing! I might be moving in with you! On second thought, I'd spend so much time looking at the beads that I'd never touch a needle. All these beads could lead to major fun.

I love to see how people store their beads. Aren't they just so pretty as to be hypnotizing. Don't you just want to use every last one. I do!

I sat down in front of the edifice of beads today, it was a total thrill to be able to see them all at once. I expect great and grand things to come of this, lol!

I made the shelves using 2x2 sheets of 1/4 inch thick plywood, 2 inch wide flat molding for the shelves and 1/2 x 1 inch molding to brace the shelves. There are scrap pieces of wedge shaped wood under the side pieces to keep the whole thing tilted back against the wall.

The only cutting I had to do was cutting a half sheet of plywood in half again and cutting the little pieces of molding to their 2 foot lengths.

I have an Arrow brand electric brad nailer that made it all go faster, I'm a nail bender if I have to hammer them in myself.

Oh good. I can show this to my husband so he'll know I'm not the only one with lots of beads. I think you have a lot more variety than I do though - I bought a lot of 1/2 kilos so I could make french beaded flowers so lots of beads but not the variety.
